What is Chair Massage?

Chair Massage takes place on a specially designed chair that fully supports the body and takes the weight off the spine. The massage is focused on the upper body, releasing muscle tension and improving an overall sense of well-being. Chair Massage often incorporates several techniques, such as; acupressure, effleurage, petrissage and Indian head massage. Sessions can be as short as 10 minutes, there is no need to remove any clothing and it does not require oils or creams. It is the most convenient form of massage, often utilised at events, corporate settings and exhibitions.

A 1 hour On-site Chair Massage starts from £55.

How Much Space is Needed For Chair Massage?

Ideally an area of at least 1.5m x 2m (and a small table if possible).

Is Chair Massage Safe?

Yes, Chair Massage is safe for most people. However; it is important to inform your massage therapist of any medical conditions you have, such as high blood pressure or pregnancy. After discussing the safety form with each client, the therapist may decide that it is not advisable to proceed. This may be disappointing for the client but it could avoid potentially worsening an existing condition. The client’s safety is always our highest priority.

Does the Therapist Bring Their Own Equipment?

Yes, the therapist will bring their own equipment and everything needed for safe and hygienic Chair Massage treatment. However; items such as privacy screens will not be provided.

How Long Does a Chair Massage Last?

Chair Massages sessions can last anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes.

Is the Therapist Qualified and Insured?

Yes, the therapist has a diploma in Swedish massage therapy as well as 2 Chair Massage certifications. The therapist holds a valid DBS certificate, public liability and malpractice insurance.

Is the Therapist Experienced and is The Equipment Used of Good Quality?

The therapist has over 5 years experience working in spas and salons and continues to study to stay up to date. The chair used is one of the best on the market and is designed by the founder of Chair Massage, David Palmer.

What Areas Do You Cover?

Abingdon, Didcot, Oxford and other areas in Oxfordshire.

Are There Any Travel Costs?

For some locations we may need to add travel costs. This will be discussed and arranged with the organiser beforehand. We always aim to keep travel costs to a minimum.

What Should I Wear to a Chair Massage and Do I Need to Remove Any Clothing?

Ideally it’s best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing to a Chair Massage. If possible, avoid wearing anything too tight or restrictive. The only items that may need to be removed are a jacket and glasses.
